NAME? Barney Townsend
AGE? 26
WHERE DO YOU LIVE? Folkestone
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING? I'm doing a masters at London South Bank University
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN FLYING? First solo airtime was easter 2007.
WHAT DO YOU FLY? Paramotors only as yet - and kitesurfing when its too windy to fly!
WHAT IS YOUR JOB IN THE TEAM? Reserve this year, and general dogsbody! I'm driving the van with all the gear from the UK to Poland and back too.
HAVE YOU ANY PREVIOUS COMPETITION EXPERIENCE?
I came 20th in this year's British nationals - that was my first comp.
WHAT'S THE MOST FUN YOU HAVE HAD FLYING:
Definitely the NAT's - the competitive element ads a whole new dimension to the sport - and you learn so much just by taking part.
WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING PART OF BEING IN
THE BRITISH TEAM 2008? Exploring new territory from the air! Every flight in a new spot is an experience. Meeting pilots from other countries is great too.
GIVE US SOME DIRT ON ONE OF YOUR PALS IN THE
BRITISH TEAM: Ask me that again at the end of the comp week - I'm sure there'll be some stories to tell by then!
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW
ABOUT YOU? I'm firmly intending on being more than just a reserve next year!
